Caring For Your Titanium And Zirconium Ring (And Your Bathroom Fittings.)
In all the years that GETi have been making Titanium rings there is one issue that they have come across maybe twice in the last ten years so it doesn't appear to be much of a problem. When buying a Titanium ring, please be advised that if the ring comes into contact with ceramic bathroon fittings or dinner services, it leaves what can only be described as 'pencil line' grey marks which can be very difficult to remove. Care should be excercised in these situations by removing the ring if necessary and not allowing the ring to come into contact with the ceramic. If you have experienced this situation please contact us to arrange for a free piece of a special scouring pad that we have found to be effective in removing these marks to be sent out. The pad should be used in conjunction with an abrasive cream cleaner and elbow grease. The same applies to Sapphire hard Black Zirconium rings - doubly so. Titanium rings are highly durable and require little maintenance. As with all metals, they will scratch and take on small rub marks which, in time, blend in and give the ring its character. Polished rings will dull down and satin rings will brighten up to level out around the same sort of look. Many people prefer not to have their ring refinished due to the idea that each scratch is part of the ring's history. Periodic cleaning is best performed using no more than soap and water and satin look rings can be easily maintained by giving a quick rub over with wire wool. Rings with precious metal inlays should not be rubbed with wire wool too frequently to avoid wearing away the inlay. Black Zirconium rings have an extremely hard coating but even they are not indestructable and can be damaged if seriously abused, Once again cleaning can be performed with soap and water. |
